Parkdale, OR - off-route alternate 9.2 mi

Locals suggested the Cooper Spur Rd. as an alternate to Hwy. 35. It is low-traffic, paved, has a fruit stand, and a climb to 3450'. The top of the pass has a lodge w/cold drinks in the lobby, and an out-and-back dirt option up to Cloud Cap. 35, on the other hand, is busy and narrow.
